THE 2023 WIRE WINTER WONDERLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
|
61 gymnasts representing Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to The Wire Gymnastics Club in Warrington to participate
in the 2023 Wire Winter Wonderland Floor and Vault Championships. A huge event with almost 600 competitors from around the
Country, Rochdales 61 gymnasts returned home with an immense amount of rewards for their efforts, including 4 gymnasts that
made their debut appearance in competition for the Club.
A Winter Wonderland themed event aimed at all levels of gymnasts, the girls from Rochdale OGC thoroughly enjoyed the whole
weekend and we as a Club could not have asked any more of them.
First time competitors for Rochdale OGC were Holly Johnson, Zahra Siddique, Megan Rands and our youngest ever debutant,
at just 3 yrs old, Connie Tetley. All 4 thoroughly enjoyed their first competition and performed superbly.
As a team, the gymnasts from Rochdale OGC accumulated a very impressive amount of medal positions on the podium across varying
levels and age groups. Special mention to the 11 gymnasts who were crowned Overall Individual Champions with Hattie Smith,
Isla-Rae Whitehead, Elsie Wallen, Holly Johnson, Maisie Pringle, Selena Paul, Evie Dunning, Hannah Torr, Eva Lowe, Monica
McTigue and Classa Torba all winning their respective categories finishing in 1st place Overall and lifting the trophies on
the podium.
ROGCs Vault medallists were Layla Bennett, Isla-Rae Whitehead, Connie Tetley, Layla Brooks, Mahira Arien, Georgia Aylmer-Shanks,
Lilah-Mae Curran, Clarissa Torba, Maisie Pringle, Florence Gibson, Eleanor Hibbert, Falon Mack, Selena Paul, Holly Johnson,
Esme Pearson, Poppy Licata, Hannah Torr, Jessie Calderbank, Evie Dunning, Adriana Tarasevic, Eva Lowe and Monica McTigue.
Whilst Isla-Rae Whitehead, Connie Tetley, Hattie Smith, Layla Brooks, Elsie Wallen, Clarissa Torba, Maisie Pringle, Florence
Gibson, Jorgie Reid, Selena Paul, Nola Illingworth, Holly Johnson, Scarlette Sloan, Hannah Torr, Sophie Gregory, Evie Dunning,
Adriana Tarasevic, Eva Lowe, Delilah Thom and Monica McTigue all picked medals for the efforts with their floor routines.
Overall 2nd place positions were taken by Connie Tetley, Mahira Arien, Nola Illingworth, Esme Pearson and Sophie Gregory,
with Layla Brooks, Isabella Heaps, Florence Gibson, Eleanor Hibbert, Jessie Calderbank, Adriana Tarasevic and Delilah Thom
all taking 3rd place Overall in the respective groups.
All 61 gymnasts, along with the Clubs Coaches and Judges, pulled together as a Team and competed with pride. An incredible
event run by The Wire Gymnastics Club and a fantastic experience to build on leading into next years events.

THE 2023 ROBIN HOOD CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS
|
Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to Nottingham for the first time to participate in the 2023 RH Challenge Championships
held at Robin Hood Gymnastics Club. A tough competition was expected and it did not disappoint. A fantastic, fun and friendly
atmosphere with some amazing results from the Rochdale gymnasts. A few unplanned mistakes from some with some much improved
all around performances for others.
Martha Hartley and Alexis Dawson got the days events off to a fabulous start in the Tin competition with Alexis taking 3rd
on Vault, 1st on Bars and 5th place Overall. Martha had a much improved competition from her last outing going clean on all
4 pieces of apparatus.
The next round of proceedings saw Charlotte Barrett, Keira Sloan, Lola Whittaker and Tais Amorim in action in the Zinc
aged 10-11 category. Charlotte took 2nd place on Vault, 1st on Bars, finishing in 3rd place Overall. Tais earned 3rd placings
on both Vault and Bars, with Lola taking 2nd place on Bars and 6th place Overall. Keira had a clean competition to finish
off the round.
The final round of the day saw Ellie-Mae Hill, Olivia-May Hibbert, Scarlett Hanley, and Edie Ogden in action in the Zinc Over
12 section of the competition. Olivia and Scarlett both had hugely improved competitions from their last outing 2 weeks ago
with Olivia taking 2nd on Vault, 1st on Bars, 3rd on Floor and 3rd Overall, whilst Scarlett was rewarded with 2nd on Bars,
3rd on Beam and 4th Overall. Edie took the gold medal on floor in 1st place, sharing 4th place Overall with Scarlett. Daisy
Whittaker finished off the days events with an amazing all around competition earning herself 3rd on Vault, 1t on Bars, 1st
on Floor and 2nd Overall.
A brilliant outing for our first time venture into this competition. The gymnasts were a credit to the Club and should
all be very proud of their achievements.

THE 2023 LIVERPOOL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
|
Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to the City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club with 16 of its members to contest
the 2023 Liverpool Open Championships. In a very tough field of over 450 competitors the 16 young gymnasts, following some
amazing performances returned home with some magnificent results.
Alexis Dawson got the weekend off to an amazing start as she was crowned the Overall Individual Champion in the Tin Aged 9-10
category, with Lois Eddy in 9th place and Martha Hartley in 11th. Alexis was also rewarded with 1st on Vault, 1st on Bars,
2nd on Beam and 6th on Floor, with Lois taking 2nd place on Bars. The Tin Over 11 category earned Ava Dixon a 5th place Overall
with Maisie Pringle in 9th. Ava was also deserved of 5th place on Vault, 3rd Bars, and 4th on Beam with Maisie taking 6th
place on Beam.
The Copper Aged 13-14 section earned Daisy Whittaker a 16th place Overall, with Millie Nuttall taking a 5th place finish
in the Over 15 category. Millie was also credited with 2nd on Bars and 1st on Floor.
The Zinc Over 11 competition rounded off the weekend where Lola Whittaker took 1st place on the podium as she was crowned
the Overall Individual Champion, closely followed by Charlotte Barrett in 2nd place, Maisie Whitlow in 6th, Keira Sloan in
7th, Tais Amorim in 11th, Ellie-Mae Hill in 15th, Eddie Ogden in 20th, Olivia-May Hibbert in 21st and Scarlett Hanley in 28th.
Lolas victory was aided by collecting 2nd on Vault and 2nd on Beam. Charlotte took 3rd on Vault and 4th on Bars, with Maisie
taking 5th place on both Beam and Floor.
Gymnasts were rewarded for some super clean beam routines with Alexis, Ava, Maisie Pringle, Daisy, Edie, Ellie, Tais,
Lola, Maisie W, Charlotte and Keira all picking up Beam Queen certificates from the judges.
Vault Awards were rewarded to Maisie Pringle for a great flight on, Ava for tight legs, Lois for good shapes, Alexis for
an excellent Vault, Martha, Olivia, Charlotte and Lola for dynamic vaults, and Tais, Maisie Whitlow, Edie, Scarlett, Ellie,
and Keira for a dynamic run up.
Judges Awards for Bars were earned by Ellie for a stunning routine, Lola for lovely straight legs, and Tais and Millie being
rewarded for some lovely work. Ava picked up a Beam Award for a lovely dismount, with Olivia for a beautiful Russian Lever,
Lola for an awesome backflip and Keira for putting up a good fight to stay on. Floor awards were presented to Charlotte for
her lovely style, Keira for a beautiful floor, and Olivia for lovely artistry.
The girls will now take this experience onto their next event which will take place in two weeks time when they travel
to the 2023 Robin Hood Challenge Championships being held at Robin Hood Gymnastics Club in Nottingham.

THE 2023 MILANO INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
|
Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Clubs members travelled to The City of Preston Gymnastics Club to participate in the 2023
Milano Invitational Championships. Just 13 young gymnasts from the Club took part in a thoroughly enjoyable weekend of competition.
A Unicorn themed event with lots of awards, certificates, prizes, medals and trophies on offer, the girls returned home with
some amazing results and personal achievements amassing 12 Gold medals, 9 Silver, 9 Bronze, 3 Overall Individual Champions,
6 Unicorns and 5 Special Judges Awards, boosting their confidence for their forthcoming competitive events in the weeks to
come.
Some of the gymnasts contested new levels of competition for the first time, with lots of new skills performed in brand
new routines.
Maisie Pringle kicked off the weekend with a fabulous 2nd place Overall finish in the Tin category. Maisie was also credited
with 3rd on Vault, 2nd on Bars, 3rd on Beam and a Judges Award for Excellence on Vault.
Also in the Tin competition Lois Eddy stormed to victory being crowned the Overall Individual Champion in her age group,
followed by Tatiana Truncaite in 9th and Alexis Dawson in 11th place. Lois was also deserved of 3rd on Bars and 1st on Beam.
Alexis was credited with 3rd on Vault and 1st on Bars with Tatiana earning a Judges Award for her Excellence on Floor.
The Zinc category gymnasts stepped onto the floor with a great start with Charlotte Barrett taking the Overall Individual
Title in 1st place, closely followed by Tais Amorim in 2nd place and Keira Sloan in 7th place. Charlotte was also warranted
with 1st on Bars and 2nd on Beam, with Tais collecting 3rd on Bars and Beam, and Keira also being credited with 3rd on Bars.
Mahira Arien earned 9th place Overall in the Tin group earning a Special Judges Award for Excellence on Bars.
Olivia-May Hibbert had an incredible outing taking the Overall Individual Title in 1st place in her age group in the Zinc
section, amassing 1st place on Vault, 1st on Bars, 2nd on Beam and 1st on Floor.
Maisie Whitlow earned a brilliant 2nd place Overall in her category, also taking 1st on Bars, 2nd on Beam and 2nd on Floor.
Ellie-Mae Hill took 4th place Overall in her section, along with 3rd place on Bars and a Judges Award for Excellence on Beam.
Rounding off the weekend were the Copper gymnasts with Daisy Whittaker taking 5th place Overall in her age group, along
with a 3rd place on Vault and a Judges Award for Excellence on Bars. Millie Nuttall had an 8th place Overall in her section
taking 1st place on Bars, 3rd on Bars and 2nd place on Floor.
They all did themselves and Rochdale OGC very proud and their results will now take them forward to their next competition
in two weeks time as they head to the City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club as they contest the 2023 Liverpool Open.

THE 2023 URBAN HAWAIIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
|
Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to Urban School of Gymnastics in Warrington to participate in the 2023 Urban
Hawaiian Floor & Vault Championships. A fun filled weekend with lots of new friends made, the ROGC gymnasts thoroughly
enjoyed themselves and showcased some incredible performances across the two day event.
The girls aged between 4 and 14 returned home with almost 80 medal winning positions, numerous Special Awards and Judges Awards
and 9 Overall Individual Champions. Rochdale OGCs first time competitors Harley Keast, Lilah-Mae Curran, Hattie Smith, Maysi
Tetley, Michelle Potts, Halle Brooks, Alizah Sahir and Maria-Clarissa Torba all competed brilliantly with super confidence.
Special mention to Georgia Aylmer-Shanks, Nell McKeown, Layla Bennett, Halle Brooks, Maysi Tetley, Isla-Rae Whitwhead, Klara
Nicklin, Isabella Heaps and Alexis Dawson who were all crowned Champions in their respective Levels taking top spot individually
on the podium.
A Hawaiian themed event saw Penelope Walkden, Aria Cain, Scarlette Sloan, and Destenee Hutchinson all earn prizes for their
competition number creations.
Special Awards were rewarded to Lilah-Mae Curran, Isabella Finn, Millie Bradley, Oliwia Szymanska, Mahira Arien, and Tatiana
Truncaite. Judges Awards were awarded to Hattie Smith for Vault, with Cecelia Potter, and Poppy Licata earning Judges Awards
for their Floor Routines.
A fantastic competition hosted by Urban School of Gymnastics. Well Done to Gymnasts and Coaches, and huge thankyou to
all Team ROGC parents for your continued support at these events.

THE 2023 DIAMOND INVITATIONAL BRITISH CLASSIC CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS
|
Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club entered the 2023 Diamonds Invitational British Classic Challenge Championships for the
first time with 12 of the Clubs gymnasts.
Hosted by Diamonds Gymnastics Club in Halifax, a thoroughly enjoyable event where all the gymnasts were encouraged along
the way by all participating club members.
The 12 Rochdale OGC gymnasts returned home with some outstanding achievements for their efforts, with every single gymnast
attaining medal positions on the podium and heaps of other awards for their performances.
The weekend got off to a great start with Daisy Whittaker and Millie Nuttall contesting the Copper section of the competition.
Daisy eventually finished in 5th place Overall, achieving 2nd on Beam, 5th on Bars and a Judges Award for a lovely handstand
in her bar routine. Millie earned 7th place Overall, also being accredited with 3rd place on Vault and 2nd place on Floor.
Day 2 of competition saw the Zinc level gymnasts in action. Rochdale OGC entered gymnasts in two of the age categories along
with a team in both age groups. At the end of a very lucrative day the ROGC gymnasts attained the Overall Champion in both
age categories along with both Team Titles.
The Zinc Over 12 group saw Maisie Whitlow crowned the Overall Individual Champion lifting the trophy in 1st place on the
podium closely followed by Edie Ogden in 2nd place, Lottie Peacocke in 3rd, Ellie-Mae Hill in 4th, Anabelle Bramwell in 6th
and Alba Giordani in 7th. The girls took a clean sweep of the Vault medals with Maisie in 1st, Anabelle in 2nd and Edie in
3rd. On Bars Lottie and Alba shared 1st position, with Maisie and Edie sharing 3rd place. Beam earned Maisie 2nd place with
Ellie in 3rd, whilst on Floor Edie took 1st place with Maisie in 3rd. Alba and Lottie were rewarded awards for the Highest
Execution Score of the round which they earned from their scores attained for their Bar routines. The Team consisted of 4
members with their scores from one apparatus each counting towards the total team score. Anabelle (Vault), Lottie (Bars),
Maisie (Beam) and Edie (Floor) reached a score that put them in 1st place on the podium lifting the Team Title.
To finish the weekend the age 10/11 Zinc gymnasts were in action. Tais Amorim (Vault), Keira Sloan (Bars), Lola Whittaker
(Beam), Charlotte Barrett (Floor) also amassed a team total that couldn’t be beaten as they lifted the Team Title
in 1st place. Individually Charlotte Barrett was crowned the Overall Champion in 1st place, closely followed by Tais in 3rd
and Lola in 4th. On Vault Charlotte took 5th place. The girls took the top 4 places on Bars with Charlotte in 1st place,
Lola 2nd, Keira 3rd and Lola 4th. Tais earned 4th place on Beam with Charlotte in 6th with Tais picking up 2nd place on Floor
with Charlotte in 3rd. Charlotte took the award for the Highest Execution Score of the round for her performance on Bars.
Lola earned a Judges Award for a very Dynamic Vault, with Tais collecting a Judges Award for her Floor Routine for very high
somersault work with perfect landings.
Wonderful results from just 12 gymnasts who did themselves and Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club proud.

THE 2023 BOLTON SPRING INTO GYMNASTICS FLOOR & VAULT CHAMPIONSHIPS

67 of Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Clubs gymnasts travelled to the University of Bolton Stadium to participate in the 2023
Bolton Spring Into Gymnastics Floor and Vault Championships.
A Pirate and Mermaid themed event that catered for all levels of ability in an extremely fun filled weekend of gymnastics
where over 1000 competitors thoroughly enjoyed themselves throughout a fantastically organised weekend.
All the gymnastics competed with pride and smiles on their faces. It was such a pleasure to see.
What a truly amazing weekend of competition it was.
A huge well done to all the Team at Bolton Gymnastics Club for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Organising that many competitors
is truly commendable to you all.
Special mention to Rochdale OGCs 7 Overall Champions.
Following some super routines Layla Brooks, Isabella Heaps, Monica McTigue, Scarlett Hanley, Isla-Rae Whitehead, Layla Bennett
and Klara Nicklin all raised their trophies high as they were crowned Overall Individual Winners in the various categories
the competed in. A truly amazing weekend of competition.
24 of the Clubs youngsters made their debut performances all competing for the first time ever.
Sophie Keogh, Elsie Wallen, Monica McTigue, Nola Illingworth, Lacey Jones, Cecelia Potter, Millie Bradley, Oliwia Szymanska,
Maisie Hardwick, Khaleesi Wood, Marnie-Rose Crossley, Adriana Tarasevic, Eiliyah Sheikh, Daisy Pemberton, Tahlia Edmondson,
Polly Yuill, Ivy Dixon, Maya Becconsall, Layla Brooks, Luna Aldred, Penelope Walkden, and Arissa Rashid all performed with
super confidence and some lovely routines with many of them earning top 6 placings on the podium.
The whole team showed some beautiful work across the 2 day event, and returned home with an immense number of medal placings
and awards for their efforts.
They are all now hard at work for their next event which will see them travel to Warrington to compete in the 2023 Urban Hawaiian
Floor and Vault Championships to be held at Urban Gymnastics Club next month.

THE 2023 STOCKPORT EASTER 4 PIECE CHAMPIONSHIPS
|
15 of Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Clubs members travelled to Stockport School of Gymnastics to participate in the 2023
Stockport Easter British Classic Challenge Championships. Between them the gymnasts amassed a huge medal haul of 52 placings
on the podium, with 4 Overall Individual Champions, and Team Champions in the Zinc Category.
The days proceedings got off to a fantastic start in the Zinc Aged 11 category where Charlotte Barrett was crowned the Overall
Individual Champion, closely followed by Lola Whittaker in 2nd place. Charlotte, and Lola, along with Tais Amorim all produced
extremely well executed competitions, going clean on all apparatus with their routines. Charlotte also amassed 1st placings
on Vault, Bars and Beam, along with a 2nd placing on Floor. Lola warranted 2nd placings on Bars and Beam.
Olivia May-Hibbert took the second title of the day being crowned the Overall Individual Champion in the Zinc Aged 13
event, closely followed by Lottie Peacocke in 2nd place. Olivias victory was aided by 3rd place on Vault and 1st placings
on Bars, Beam and Floor, with Lottie taking 2nd place on Bars and 3rd on Beam.
The Zinc Aged Over 14 group saw Maisie Whitlow take a 2nd placing Overall with Alexis Kernaghan in 3rd. Maisie was deserved
of 1st on Vault, with 2nd placings on Bars, Beam and Floor. Alexis took 1st place on Bars and 3rd place on Beam.
Edie Ogden was the Champion of the Zinc Aged 12 category taking the Overall Title in 1st place on the podium, also collecting
2nd place on Vault and 1st place on Bars. Ellie-Mae Hill earned a 2nd place on Bars.
The Copper Aged 13 competition saw Daisy Whittaker have an extremely confident competition to finish in 3rd place Overall
in the individual standings. Daisy was also credited with 1st place on Bars and 2nd place on Beam. Thea Thornsby took 2nd
placings on Vault and Floor. Luci Ashton merited 2nd place Overall in the Copper Aged 15 section, also securing 1st place
on Bars and 2nd place on Floor. The day concluded as it began with another Overall Individual Champion with Ellan Lang taking
1st place in the Bronze competition. Ellan was also attributed with 1st placings on Vault and Bars, and 2nd placings on Beam
and Floor.
Thea won a prize for the creativity of her competition number, whilst Beam Queen Awards were presented to
Charlotte, Lola, Tais, Maisie, Lottie, Olivia-May, Alexis, Daisy, Millie Nuttall and Ellan by the Beam Judges for sticking
their beam routines.
The final presentations of the day were for the Team Competitions. Rochdale OGC entered 3 teams, two in the Zinc competition
and one in the Copper competition. Charlotte Barrett, Lola Whittaker, Olivia-May Hibbert and Edie Ogden (The 4 Musketeers)
were crowned Team Champions in the Zinc category, with Lottie Peacocke, Maisie Whitlow, Alba Giordani and Alexis Kernaghan
(The Super Troupers), taking 3rd place. The Copper Team event saw Daisy Whittaker, Thea Thornsby, Luci Ashton and Millie
Nuttall (The Eggcellent 4) take 3rd place.
A great end to the week for Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club as earlier in the week we received notification from the
CEO of British Gymnastics that the Club had been firstly Nominated and secondly Shortlisted for the 2023 British Gymnastics
Community Club of the Year Award. The winners will be announced later in April. Whatever the outcome we are immensely proud
to have received this communication and feel honoured to be on the shortlist.
