2022 EVENTS


THE 2022 WIRE WINTER WONDERLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to The Wire Gymnastics Club in Warrington to participate in the 2022 Wire Winter Wonderland Floor and Vault Championships.

A huge event with almost 900 competitors from around the Country, Rochdale OGCs 60 gymnasts returned home with an immense amount of rewards for their efforts, including 5 gymnasts that made their debut appearance in competition.

A Winter Wonderland themed event aimed at all levels of gymnasts, the girls from Rochdale OGC thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend and we as a Club could not have asked any more of them. Delilah Andrew, Pixie Heatley, Isabelle Shotton, Charlotte Maclean and Serennah Schofield were all rewarded with Rosettes and Best Number Certificates for their competition number creations.

As a team, the gymnasts from Rochdale OGC accumulated a very impressive amount of medal positions on the podium across varying levels and age groups. Special mention to the 8 gymnasts who were crowned Overall Individual Champions with Olivia-May Hibbert, Alexis Kernaghan, Maisie Pringle, Hannah Torr, Tatiana Truncaite, Layla Bennett, Isla-Rae Whitehead and Charlotte Barrett all winning their respective categories finishing in 1st place Overall.

ROGCs Vault medallists were Olivia-May Hibbert, Maya Aylmer-Shanks, Layla Bennett, Ebony Fox, Mahira Arien, Isle-Rae Whitehead, Maisie Pringle, Florence Gibson, Poppy Licata, Hannah Torr, Martha Hartley, Edie Ogden, Ellie-Mae Hill, Isabella Heaps, Alexis Dawson, Serennah Schofield, Tatiana Truncaite, Charlotte Maclean, Tais Amorim and Charlotte Barrett.


Whilst Olivia-May Hibbert, Esme Pearson, Delilah Thom, Destenee Hutchinson, Layla Bennett, Ebony Fox, Scarlett Hanley, Alexis Kenaghan, Isla-Rae Whitehead, Maisie Pringle, Elsie Harrison, Isabelle Shotton, Lola Whittaker, Hannah Torr, Martha Hartley, Alexis Dawson, Tatiana Truncaite, Tais Amorim and Charlotte Barrett all picked medals for the efforts with their floor routines.

Overall 2nd place positions were taken by Ebony Fox, Scarlett Hanley, Florence Gibson, Edie Ogden and Alexis Dawson, with Georgia Aylmer-Shanks, Lola Whittaker, Martha Hartley and Isabella Heaps all taking 3rd place Overall in the respective groups.

All 60 gymnasts, along with the Clubs Coaches and Judges, pulled together as a Team and competed with pride. An incredible event run by The Wire Gymnastics Club and a fantastic experience to build on leading into next years events.

THE 2022 NEWCASTLE SPOOKY SPECTACULAR CHAMPIONSHIPS


10 members of Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to Newcastle to contest the annual Spooky Spectacular Championships held at the City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy. Following a long weekend of competition all 10 gymnasts competed their routines with confidence and fantastic attitudes throughout the 3 day event. Fun was had by all, with new skills competed and where lots of personal goals were achieved leading them into next year.

Sophia Schofield got the weekend started with a 12th place finish in the Aged 11 Copper Category.

Charlotte Barrett had an amazing 2nd place Overall place finish in the Zinc Aged 10 competition with Tais Amorim earning a well deserved 12th place Overall. Charlottes overall placing was aided by 2nd place on Vault and 1st place on Bars.

The Copper aged 12 & Over category earned Thea Thornsby an 11th place finish, closely followed by Daisy Whittaker in 14th place and Millie Nuttall in 15th. Thea also earned 4th place on Bars, with Millie taking 4th place on Beam.

The Zinc 11 & Over competition attracted a field of almost 60 competitors where Olivia-May Hibbert finished in a fantastic 8th place Overall, followed by Edie Ogden in 14th and Ellie-Mae Hill in 17th. Olivia-May was also credited with 6th place on Bars.


The Bronze 13 & Over group saw Ellan Lang take the Overall Title in 1st place, aided by 2nd place on Vault, Bars and Beam, with a 3rd placing on Floor.

Between them the girls achieved 25 awards from the Judges for their performances on the individual pieces of apparatus.

Charlotte and Tais both gained awards on Vault, Bars and Beam. Ellan, Daisy, Millie, and Thea earned Beam awards. Olivia-May was rewarded with Vault, Beam and Floor awards, in addition to an award for Bars along with Thea, Edie and Ellie-Mae. Millie was credited for her lovely leaps on Floor. Ellan earned a Vault award, along with Daisy, Thea and Millie who were all credited with 2 awards each for their Vaults.

THE 2022 QUATRO CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIPS


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club embarked on a long trip to the World of Gymnastics Centre in Newport to participate in the 2022 Quatro Classic Championships. 10 of the Clubs gymnasts contested a tough competition resulting in some remarkable awards throughout a jam packed day of competition.

The Zinc Aged 10/11 category saw Charlotte Barrett take a brilliant 3rd placing Overall on the podium with Ellie-Mae Hill in 6th, Edie Ogden in 9th and Tais Amorim in 13th place. On Vault Ellie-Mae took 6th place with Charlotte in 2nd. Charlotte was also rewarded with 6th place on Bars and 3rd place on Beam. Olivia-May Hibbert had a great competition in the Zinc Over 12 section finishing in 7th place Overall, also being credited with 5th place on Vault, 4th on Floor and 5th on Bars.

The Copper Over 12 competition earned Thea Thornsby a 7th place Overall with Millie Nuttall in 10th and Daisy Whittaker in 11th place. Millie was rewarded with 5th place on Beam, with Thea taking 5th place on both Vault and Floor. Sophia Schofield had an 18th place overall finish in the Copper 10/11 years age group.
Ellan Lang rounded off the weekend in the Bronze Over 14 group taking 1st place Overall, along with 1st places on Vault, Beam and Floor and a 2nd place on Bars.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards were presented by the judges to the gymnasts across all apparatus for their efforts with their performances. Gold Awards for Almost Perfect Work were awarded to Charlotte for Vault and Bars, Ellie-Mae for Vault, Olivia-May for Vault and Bars, Daisy for Vault, and Thea for Vault and Bars. Silver Awards for Awesome Work were presented to Charlotte for Beam, Ellie-Mae for Bars, Edie for Bars, and Ellan for Floor. Bronze Awards for doing a Great Job were credited to Charlotte on Floor, Olivia-May on Floor, Tais on Bars, Millie for Bars and Floor, Thea for Floor, and Sophia on Vault. Ellan was also awarded a Judges Award for a fantastic Vault.
The girls are now hard at work for their next event where they will travel to Newcastle in 3 weeks time to compete in the 2022 Spooky Spectacular to be held at the City of Newcastle Gymnastics Club.

THE 2022 LIVERPOOL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to the City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club with 16 of its members to contest the 2022 Liverpool Open 4 Piece Apparatus Championships. In a field of over 400 competitors the 16 young gymnasts, following some amazing performances returned home with some magnificent results.

The Classic Zinc Aged 11-12 category got the weekend off to a great start where Olivia-May Hibbert took a fantastic 2nd place Overall in the individual standings, closely followed by Lottie Peacock in 5th, Ellie-Mae Hill in 7th, Alba Giordani in 9th, Anabelle Bramwell in 15th, Edie Ogden in 16th, and Maisie Stewart in 21st. Olivia also earned 6th place on Vault and 3rd place on Floor. The girls took the top 4 placings on Bars with Olivia-May in 1st, Ellie-Mae in 2nd, Lottie in 3rd and Alba in 4th.

Ellan Lang had another great outing in the Classic Bronze competition taking the Overall title in 1st place on the podium, aided by a 2nd place on Vault, 1st on Bars and 4th place on Floor. The Classic Copper Aged 12-13 group saw Thea Thornsby finished in 6th place Overall with Daisy Whittaker in 19th. Thea earned 5th place on Floor, with Daisy collecting 5th place on Bars.


Luci Ashton earned a 3rd placing Overall in the Classic Copper Over 14 category, with Millie Nuttall in 9th place and Grace Risby in 16th. Luci was also credited with a 1st place on Bars and 6th place on Floor, with Millie taking 3rd place on Beam.

Rounding off another successful weekend the Classic Copper 9-10 age group saw the biggest field of the weekend with almost 60 gymnasts contesting the medal placings. Charlotte Barrett had an outstanding all around competition to finish in 3rd place Overall, followed by Tais Amorim in 16th. Charlotte was also deserved of 1st on Vault, 2nd on Bars and 5th on Beam. Keira Sloan collected a 6th place on Floor.

Judges Special Awards were awarded to many gymnasts for their hard work. Awards for Vault were presented to Tais and Charlotte. Bars Awards went to Ellie-Mae and Ellan. Maisie, Edie, Alba, Anabelle, and Ellan all picked up awards for beam. Floor certificates went to Olivia-May, Ellan, and Thea. Gymnasts were also rewarded for some super clean beam with Ellie-Mae, Lottie, Olivia-May, Daisy, Thea, Millie, Grace, Luci, Tais and Charlotte all picking up Beam Queen certificates from the judges.

The girls will now take this success onto their next event which will take place in two weeks time when they travel to the 2022 Quatro Classic Championships being held at the World of Gymnastics Centre in Newport.

THE 2022 MILANO INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Clubs members travelled to The City of Preston Gymnastics Club to participate in the 2022 Milano Invitational Championships for the very first time. 17 young gymnasts from the Club took part in a thoroughly enjoyable weekend of competition. A Unicorn themed event with lots of awards, certificates, prizes, medals and trophies on offer, the girls returned home with some amazing results and personal achievements, boosting their confidence for their forthcoming competitive events. Most of the gymnasts contested new levels of competition for the first time, with lots of new skills performed in brand new routines.

Thea Thornsby and Daisy Whittaker kicked off the weekend in the Copper category where Thea earned a 2nd placing Overall with Daisy finishing in 7th. Theas Overall placing was aided by 2nd placings on both Bars and Beam. Maisie Whitlow had her best competition to date in the Zinc Category eventually finishing in 3rd place Overall, along with 1st on Bars and 3rd on Floor. Maisie was also awarded with the Artistry Award for her floor routine.

Also in the Zinc section Edie Ogden finished 4th Overall, with Ellie-Mae Hill in 6th, Anabelle Bramwell in 10th and Maisie Stewart in 13th place. Ellie-Mae was credited with 2nd place on Bars. Edie and Anabelle shared 1st place on Vault with Edie also being rewarded with 2nd on Beam, with Anabelle collecting 3rd on Bars. Sophia Schofield had a 13th place finish in her age group in the Zinc category.

Ellan Lang kick started Day 2 of competition being crowned the Overall Individual Champion in the Bronze Category finishing in 1st place. A fantastic all around competition earned Ellan 2nd place on Vault, 1st on Bars, 2nd on Beam and 1st on Floor.

Continuing in the Zinc Competition Charlotte Barrett was deserved of 2nd place Overall on the podium, closely followed by Keira Sloan in 4th and Tais Amorim in 16th place. Charlotte also earned 2nd place on Vault and 1st on Bars, whilst Keira collected 3rd place on Floor.

Millie Nuttall rounded off another successful weekend finishing in 5th place Overall in her age group in the Copper level, also being credited with a 3rd place on Bars.

Coaches Awards were awarded to Tais, Millie and Ellan for their clean beam routines, with Ellie-Mae being rewarded for her floor routine, and Maisie Whitlow for a cracking all-around competition.
The Judges rewarded the gymnasts for their efforts too following some fantastic work on the apparatus with certificates for Judges Choice Special Awards. Ellan was praised for her beautiful Vault. On Bars Daisy was praised for an excellent effort in her cast to handstand and Thea for a great cast to handstand. Maisie Stewart and Maisie Whitlow were both praised for very neat routines, with Ellan being praised for great content in her routine, and Charlotte for her excellent execution. On Beam Edie was praised for her very clean skills. On Floor Tais was praised for her very nice leaps.

They all did themselves and Rochdale OGC very proud and their results will now take them forward to their next competition in two weeks time as they head to the City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club as they contest the 2022 Liverpool Open.

THE 2022 GYMSTARS OPEN CHAMPIONSHPS


5 young Gymnasts from Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club embarked on the long journey to travel to the City of Newport Gymnastics Academy to participate in the 2022 Gymstars Open 4 Piece Apparatus Championships.

This was the Clubs first event competing on the new British Classic Challenge Rules. Day one of the competition saw Charlotte Barrett, Tais Amorim and Keira Sloan in action contesting the Zinc category. All 3 girls competed with fantastic attitudes around the competition arena and after a tough competition all 3 came away with some personal achievements and rewards for their efforts.

Keira was rewarded with 5th on Vault, 5th on Bars, 6th on Beam finishing in 7th place Overall. Charlotte picked up an amazing 2nd place on Bars, for a 10th place finish in the Overall standings. Both girls earned awards for their winning number creations. Tais picked up a 4th place on Vault, eventually finishing in 15th place Overall, and was awarded with a special prize for her Choreography on Floor.


Day 2 of competition saw Luci Ashton and Thea Thornsby in action in the Copper caterogy.

Luci had a nervous start to the competition but pulled herself together to take a well deserved 1st placing on both Beam and Floor, rewarding her with a 1st place Overall on the podium in her age group.

Thea had an extremely confident competition from start to finish and was deservedly awarded with placings on every piece of apparatus earning 2nd on Vault, 1st on Bars, 2nd on Beam, 5th on Floor for an eventual 2nd placing in the Overall standings in her respective age group.

The girls will now take the success from this event into their forthcoming competitions which will take place in September and October.

THE 2022 WILTSHIRE SUMMER SIZZLER MAGIC 4 PIECE APPARATUS CHAMPIONSHPS


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to Wiltshire School of Gymnastics with 11 of its Club members to participate in the 2022 Wiltshire Summer Sizzler 4 Piece Apparatus Championships. A fun Summer themed competition saw the Rochdale OGC gymnasts return home with an impressive medal haul and 3 Overall Champions with Serennah Schofield, Edie Ogden and Olivia-May Hibbert all winning their respective categories.

A long day of competition got off to a fantastic start in Round 1 with Serennah Schofield being crowned the Overall Champion finishing in 1st place Overall, aided with 1st places on both Vault and Bars and 3rd place finishes on Beam and Floor. Competing in her first 4 piece event Evie Dunning earned a very creditable 8th place Overall.

Round 2 saw Maisie Pringle with a 5th place Overall finish along with a 1st placing on Vault. Alexis Kernaghan was credited with 2nd place on Vault and 1st place on Bars for a 2nd place Overall. Charlotte Barrett battled her way to 3rd place Overall, closely followed by Tais Amorim in 5th place. Charlotte was rewarded with 1st place on Vault, with Tais taking 3rd place on both Bars and Floor.

The final Round of the competition saw Edie Ogden and Olivia-May Hibbert both take the Overall titles in their respective groups finishing in top spot on the podium. Edie also gained 1st place on Vault and Bars, 3rd on Beam and 2nd on Floor, whilst Olivia-May was presented with 3rd on Vault and 1st on both Bars and Floor. Ellie-Mae Hill took 2nd place on Bars for a well deserved 2nd placing Overall. Sophia Schofield took 3rd place Overall, with a 1st place on Bars and 2nd on Beam. Millie Nuttall finished in 6th place Overall with 3rd place on Bars.

Serennah and Ellie-Mae were presented with Top Banana Trophies for the winning number creations.

THE 2022 BOLTON SPRING INTO GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHPS


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to the University of Bolton Stadium to participate in the 2022 Bolton Spring Into Gymnastics Floor and Vault Championships. A huge event with almost 1000 competitors from around the Country, Rochdale OGCs 76 gymnasts returned home with an immense amount of rewards for their efforts.



A Mermaid and Pirate themed event aimed at all levels of gymnasts, the girls from Rochdale OGC thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend and we as a Club could not have asked any more of them.

They all competed with huge pride and confidence with their heads held high.

Isabella Finn, Eleanor Hibbert, Scarlette Sloan, Serennah Schofield, Lola Whittaker, Edie Ogden, Olivia-May Hibbert, Ruby Chant and Scarlett Hanley were all rewarded with rosettes for their competition number creations.

As a team, Rochdale OGC amalgamated a very impressive 85 medal positions on the podium across varying levels and age groups. Special mention to our 12 Overall Individual Champions where the Clubs youngest ever competitor, Isla-Rae Whitehead, kick started the weekend taking top spot on the podium, followed with Delilah Thom, Jessica Gledhill, Klara Nicklin, Elektra Roach, Oliwia Szawula, Martha Hartley, Charlotte Barrett, Edie Ogden, Olivia-May Hibbert, Alexis Kernaghan, and Scarlett Hanley all winning their respective categories.

Almost 40 of Rochdale OGCs youngsters competed for the very first time and they were all amazing and a credit to the Club. All 76 gymnasts pulled together as a Team and competed with pride. An incredible event run by Bolton Gymnastics Club and a fantastic experience to build on for all involved.

THE 2022 WILTSHIRE WINTER MAGIC 4 PIECE APPARATUS CHAMPIONSHPS


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club embarked on their first competitive event of 2022 as they travelled to Wiltshire School of Gymnastics with 24 youngsters to contest the 2022 Wiltshire Winter Magic 4 Piece Apparatus Championships.

With some first time 4 piece competitors, lots of new routines, lots of new skills performed in competition for the very first time, all the girls successfully achieved everything that was asked them.

They earned some very valuable experience and personal achievements at this event to carry them forward to their future 2022 competitions.

A fun Winter themed competition with various categories of Penguins, Snowmen and Polar Bears, the new year could not have got off to a better start and this tough event brought the girls home with 32 top 3 medal winning positions with 8 of them earning top 3 Overall positions.

Serennah Schofield and Keira Sloan were also rewarded with prizes for their creativity in making their competition numbers.
