2020 EVENTS


THE 2020 STOCKPORT 4 PIECE  CHAMPIONSHIPS

20 gymnasts, lots of new moves, new routines, and new vaults with some amazing results.....


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to Stockport School of Gymnastics to compete in the 2020 Stockport Rec 4 Piece Apparatus Championships with 20 of the Clubs gymnasts. Following many amazing performances of new skills, new routines and new vaults, the girls returned home with a fantastic medal collection between them, along with Charlotte Barrett, Amelia Hopkins and Sophia Schofield all being crowned Overall Individual Champions in their respective age groups.

Charlotte Barrett kicked off the days proceedings in Round 1 taking victory in the Aged 8 category with top spot in 1st place Overall, closely followed by Lola Whittaker in 2nd, Keira Sloan in 3rd and Tais Amorim in 5th. Charlottes success was aided by medal positions on all 4 piece of apparatus earning 3rd on Vault and Bars, and 1st on Beam and Floor. Keira took the Vault and Bars titles in 1st place, along with a 3rd placing on Floor. Lola was credited with 2nd on Beam, with Tais taking 2nd place on Bars. Isla Dixon had a fantastic outing in the Aged 12 group eventually finishing in 4th place Overall, followed by Maisie Whitlow in 6th place and Freya Howarth in 7th. Isla took 1st place on Bars with Maisie in 3rd.

The Aged 10 section in Round 2 saw Amelia Hopkins achieve top spot in the Overall standings taking 1st place on the podium, closely followed by Freya Burgess in 2nd and Scarlett Moore in 7th. Apparatus medals were rewarded to Amelia who took 1st place on Bars and 2nd on Floor. Freya was deserved of 2nd on Vault, 3rd on Bars and 3rd on Beam, whilst Scarlett took 2nd place on Bars. Abigail Hinchliff had a 13th place finish in the Aged 11 category.

The Aged 15 category in Round 3 saw Amy Harrison back in competition with a 2nd place Overall finish, followed by Charlotte Wystawnoha in 3rd, Holly Rodgers 5th and Katie Pickup in 6th. Amys overall win was helped with a 2nd place on Vault, 1st on Bars, 3rd on Beam and 1st on Floor. Charlotte took 2nd places on both Beam and Floor. Holly earned 2nd place on Bars, with Katie in 3rd place. Alexis Dawson had a great outing in the Aged 7 group with 2nd place on Bars, 3rd on Beam and 1st on Floor to take 2nd place Overall. Sophia Schofield rounded off a highly successful day for the Club taking victory in the Aged 9 competition in 1st place Overall, with Isabelle Ahern in 2nd, Isabelle Moseley-Dunne in 9th and Ellie-Mae Hill in 11th. Sophia also took 1st on Bars and 2nd on Beam, whilst Isabelle Ahern was credited with 3rd on Vault, 1st on Beam and 1st on Floor.

Some incredible work from the girls earned them huge rewards and they now look forward to their next event where they will compete in Bolton in May.

THE 2020 WILTSHIRE WINTER WARMER CHAMPIONSHIPS

29 ROGC gymnasts had an outstanding start to the year returning home with 67 medals and 6 Overall Champions.....


Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club embarked on their first competitive event of 2020 as they travelled to Wiltshire School of Gymnastics with 29 youngsters to contest the 2020 Wiltshire Winter Warmer 4 Piece Championships.

A fun Winter themed competition with various categories of Penguins, Snowmen and Polar Bears, the new year could not have got off to a better start and the girls brought home 67 top 3 medal winning positions, and boasted 6 Overall Champions with Keira Sloan, Daisy Whittaker, Tais Amorim, Isabelle Ahern, Evie Dixon and Freya Burgess all taking Overall Victory in their respective categories, with some of them competing 4 piece for the first time.

Penguins Grp 1 - Keira Sloan 1st Vault, 2nd Bars, 1st Beam, 2nd Floor, 1st Overall. Charlotte Barrett 1st Floor, 5th Overall.
Penguins Grp 2 - Lola Whittaker 3rd Beam, 2nd Floor, 3rd Overall.
Snowmen Grp 1 - Daisy Whittaker 2nd Vault, 1st Bars, 1st Beam, 1st Overall, Pippa Hanson-Walker 2nd Bars, 2nd Overall, Sophia Schofield 3rd Vault, 3rd Bars, 3rd Beam, 3rd Overall.
Snowmen Grp 2 - Ava Dixon 3rd Beam, 5th Overall.

ROUND 2
Penguins Grp 1 - Tais Amorim 1st Vault, 2nd Bars, 2nd Beam, 1st Floor, 1st Overall, Ellie-Mae Hill 2nd Vault, 1st Bars, 5th Overall.
Penguins Grp 2 - Isabelle Ahern 1st Bars, 2nd Beam, 1st Floor, 1st Overall, Scarlett Moore 1st Vault, 1st Beam, 2nd Overall, Isabelle Moseley-Dunne 9th Overall.
Snowmen Grp 1 - Abigail Hinchliff 3rd Bars, 2nd Beam, 6th Overall.
Snowmen Grp 2 - Evie Dixon 2nd Bars, 2nd Beam, 1st Overall. Maisie Whitlow 3rd Vault, 2nd Floor, 2nd Overall, Freya Howarth 1st Bars, 1st Floor, 6th Overall, Isla Dixon 6th Overall.
Snowmen Grp 3 - Grace Risby 4th Overall.

ROUND 3
Penguins Grp 1 - Freya Burgess 2nd Vault, 1st Beam, 1st Floor, 1st Overall, Olivia-May Hibbert 2nd Vault, 1st Beam, 1st Floor, 2nd Overall, Amelia Hopkins 2nd Bars, 7th Overall.
Penguins Grp 2 - Sophie Miller 3rd Beam, 3rd Floor, 5th Overall, Alexis Kernaghan 1st Bars, 6th Overall, Layla Rushton 2nd Vault, 1st Floor, 7th Overall, Scarlett Davis 8th Overall.
Polar Bears Grp 1 - Hannah Pratt 2nd Vault, 1st Bars, 1st Beam, 2nd Overall, Isobel Lee 3rd Beam, 2nd Floor, 3rd Overall, Rebecca Razzaq 3rd Bars, 2nd Beam, 4th Overall, Millie Nuttall 6th Overall.

Some amazing performances with outstanding results, the girls will now take the success from this competition into their next event which will be at Stockport School of Gymnastics in March.
