CAITLAN DOLAN

LEVEL 1 GROUP 2
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

LUCY BYRNE

Pleasant to coach, and gets on with any work given to her.  Has moved groups within the Level 1 Squad this year and if her steady progress continues should be ready to move up through the ranks to Level 2 early in 2009.  A couple of competitions under her belt this year also.

A fairly new gymnast to the squad but is already showing a willingness to learn, and a commitment to attend the training sessions on offer. Very quiet girl – we like that!  A steady worker who chips away at moves and it has paid off.  A talented individual who should go far in years to come.

LEVEL 1 GROUP 3
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

SADIE MURRAY

LEVEL 1 GROUP 4
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

ELLIE STOKES

One of the youngest gymnasts in the club with talent.  In years to come should progress through the ranks and is already showing some competitive spirit.  Has progressed from Saturday Morning into Level 1 and is now attending extra sessions on Sunday Evenings and working like a trooper.

A young gymnast who pays attention to everything she is being told.  Will emerge through the ranks in years to come if she sticks at it, and gaining more and more confidence with every competition.  Been with us a while and has shown a great deal of and effort and so deserves this award.

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 1
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

ELYSE MURRAY

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 2
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

ALEXANDRA REES

Another good years work.  This gymnast has been consistent.  Like others she has her ups and downs and everything doesn’t always go to plan for her but she just gets on with the job. Has been with us for some years now. A pleasant girl who fights for everything she eventually achieves.

A challenging gymnast who has risen beyond expectations this year.  Finds things more difficult than others within the group but always tries to keep up, and has had some fantastic results in competition this year.  Hard working and successful, and hopefully will progress further in the future.

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 3
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

NIAMH GILLAN

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 4
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

MEGAN O'SHEA

This gymnast seems to have been with us forever!   A gymnast who works her socks off for anyone who coaches her.  Not performing the most difficult moves but grafts to achieve what she is capable of at all times. Very dedicated to her current training sessions and very rarely misses.

One of the most hard working gymnasts we have in the club. Produces work to the best of her ability and always tries to achieve what is being asked of her.  Encouraging to all other group members and gets along with everyone well.  A pleasure to coach and have in the squad at the club.

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 5
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

BETHAN BRADY

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 6
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

DANIELLE SOUTHERN

A gymnast who has no confidence in herself whatsoever, and needs coaxing into everything.  She gets there eventually but if she would believe in herself could go a lot further.  A regular attender who is no trouble whatsoever, and this year has progressed through to Level 3.

A gymnast who trains religiously. Very pleased that this gymnast has been picked for this award. She has put in a superb years work. Always pays attention to what is being asked of her and tries her best to achieve her aims. A hard working young lady who puts effort in everything she attempts.

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 7
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

EMMA HAYDEN

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 8
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

AIMEE HUSSEY

A gymnast who has moved from level to level this year to arrive in the current group she is in, and is a far more able gymnast than first thought.  She is shining through as an all rounder and one day we hope this will come through in competition.  Ready to move to 4 piece events in 2009.

This gymnast moved into her current group about this time last year and has steadily moved on across all pieces of apparatus. She works hard and concentrates well for any coach that is with her.  Her progress has been very steady and is now showing through in the level she is training in.

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 9
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

SIAN ASHWORTH

LEVEL 2-5 GROUP 10
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

GEORGIA HOWARTH

This gymnast is showing great progress across all pieces of apparatus and is a valued member of the group she currently trains in.  In years to come she should progress through the ranks and is already showing competitive spirit.  A very hard working group member who is pleasant to all.

A quiet young lady who always works hard and is a pleasure to coach. Her coach

finds her a pleasure to work with. Gets along with everyone well. Hopefully in 2009 we will see her on the competition scene a little more which will enhance her confidence in what she is performing.

ROBIN CASEY

As gymnasts from the Level 1 squad usually join us from the beginners classes, they enter the squad with the minimum of requirements. This gymnast has risen to now perform handspring vaults supported only training the piece of apparatus once a week. A regular attender and hard worker.

The most difficult piece of apparatus to master and a gymnast who is willing to work at it. She is only tiny but has an immense amount of strength which helps her on this piece of apparatus which will be built upon in year to come. Now training in Level 3 this gymnast will progress nicely.

SARAH BOLTON

Beam is now regularly worked by the Level 1 squad and gymnasts are progressing nicely.  Basic movements to be mastered here and these must be correct before moving through the levels. A nice looking gymnast on this apparatus who is working very hard to achieve what is being asked of her.

A member of the squad who has shown extremely neat and tidy work on floor at the same time as improving on her quality of moves.  Her first competitions under her belt at floor and vault level and the improvement in her work is already showing.  Hopefully we will see some medals come her way in 2009.

GRACE PAULINE

A tiny talented girl who has improved across the board this year.  This gymnast comes well equipped and she works hard at this piece.  We have been most impressed by this gymnast right through the year. For a little girl, this gymnast has a whopping great vault and the table is bigger than she is!

A gymnast who joined us late last year and couldn’t do very much at all on this piece of apparatus.  She has literally worked her little socks off to get where she is today.  An upstart routine for any gymnast in the space of 12 months is an achievement but a fantastic reward for all the determination.

This gymnast has so much potential.  Not a natural on beam but has picked up all the basics at a steady pace.  Just gets on with the work she is given to do and has progressed immensely to get where she is on this piece at the moment which should put her in good stead for next years events.

A young gymnasts who pays attention to everything she is being told, gaining more and more confidence with every performance.  She has excelled this year on floor and is well deserving of this award. Introduced to tumbling this year too and has a strong base for future things to come.

MEGAN O'SHEA

Progressing through to Level 4 this year this gymnast has made immense progress on a piece of apparatus she was absolutely petrified of. We couldn't even get her to vault over the cross horse and recently she competed for the 1st time and she vaulted over the table.  Totally deserving.

A tall gymnast who has had to work her socks off at this piece of apparatus this year to get where she is today.  Her work has enabled her to compete in quite a few 4 piece apparatus events where she has competed extremely well.  And hopefully her bar routine will have a few new moves in 2009.

LUCY VERNON

This gymnast hasn’t found this piece of apparatus easy especially when we found out she hated going backwards.  But work at it she has and at the age of 16 what she has done has to be admired.  All the grafting eventually paid off in the last competition where she eventually won beam.

Not a natural gymnast on floor but this year has improved her tumbling skills along with her leaps and jumps and general all round performance.  A regular attender who only trains twice a week and her floor routine eventually shone in her last competitive event where she took the gold medal.

CHARLOTTE LOFTUS

A gymnasts who came into the squad and has tried her best with everything that has been asked of her. Not the talent of some of our stars, but works just as hard, if not harder to achieve the tiniest little thing, and is the most grateful gymnast we have got to anyone who spends any time with her.

A worker!  Hard work every session, not always succeeding, but never gives up always tries again and again until achievement is got !  Been with us a while now, great to coach, works for anybody, and is a valued member of the squad.  Well deserved podium finishes in competition this year.

One of the hardest workers in the gym who doesn’t find anything as easy others do.  She works tremendously hard to achieve the tiniest thing and this year has made amazing progress on all apparatus with everything she has been asked to do. Hard working and fully deserving.

This gymnast has more determination to succeed than we have seen in a long time.  She has had to graft at every element tackled and she has succeeded beyond our expectations.  A 4 piece apparatus competitor now which is testament to the amount of work she has put in this year.

Another one of our talented gymnasts who has shone in competition this year.  Quiet and hard working for any coach who trains her and is a joy to teach.  Likes to please everyone all of the time and thrives on challenges.  A great competitor and valuable member of the club.

Improvement is not the word for this gymnast.  Progress on a mighty scale from the start to finish of the year.  A hugely talented gymnast but also a very hard worker who strives to achieve every task asked of her.  This gymnast comes in a small package but could be colossal one day.

GEORGIA HALL

One of the quiet members of the squad who always works hard and toils away at everything.  Major progress in competition this year has earned her some great results which is testament to the amount of hours she puts in. A good group and squad member who is pleasant to all.

Hard work every single session has earned this gymnast her rewards this year.  Progress in all 4 disciplines which has made a huge difference in competition results this year and should carry her through to next year and more successes.  A pleasant squad member to be looked up to.

JUNIOR CLUB
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

LEAH REGAN

SENIOR CLUB
GYMNAST OF THE YEAR

SABRINA BIRCHENOUGH

A gymnast who joined us late in 2007 from a local leisure centre and has turned into one of our promising young talents for the future.  Incredible work rate which has paid off and next year should make her mark in 4 piece apparatus competitions.  A credit to the club and herself.

This gymnast herself has come on leaps and bounds this year at what some would consider a very late age in the sport.  But defy the odds she has done through sheer graft and determination.  Encouraging to all other squad members.  A true club gymnast for ROGC and well earned.

JUNIOR
COACH OF THE YEAR

LUCIA THORLEY

SENIOR
COACH OF THE YEAR

NIGEL CROCKER

An ex-gymnast as many of our Junior Coaches are, this coach stopped training just over 12 months ago due to injury.  She has made a most remarkable presence in the groups she teaches.  She has taken to coaching like a duck to water.  She is one of the most impressive youngsters coaching at the club and has a maturity and a group control and awareness of the needs of the group that could match many of the adult coaches.

This coach has been with the club for many many years now and puts all efforts into the girls squad contributing to many gymnasts work.  Doesn’t coach the easiest of groups.  However, coaches voluntarily twice a week and never ever misses a session.  Always willing to help out within the squad wherever and whenever needed.  A technically minded person who is always at hand when other coaches need help in this direction.
